For the horde?

I don’t consider myself much of a mount collector. Though I’ve still managed to collect 75 of them of them over the years. I’m still firmly wedded to epic flight form and wish all my chars had it.

Argent Hippogrpyh

As they can’t they need mounts, preferably ones I like, and at the moment that’s my hippogryph and the red flying disc. I treated myself to the Cenarion hippogryph back in June 2010. I’ve finally added a second hippogryph to the stables. The Silver Covenant one.

It’s not for Ari though it’s for all the little hordlings I intend to level on  whatever realm MG ends up being connected to, (probably all of the RP realms except for AD). I have a sneaking suspicion they’re all going to end up blood elf females & I truly dislike those squawking chicken things they get.

The 90 boost is in and I’m having a hum and a haa about blowing £40 to create a Shaman. I never have been able to level them, some of which might be the races available. It’s not that I haven’t tried every race Blizz offers it’s just that I seem to fall back on elves & humans. Maybe I’ll wait till the model revamp, they may seem less clunky after that.

I’m also adding getting the Flameward hippogryph to my ‘to do while waiting for WOD’ list and maybe other in-game ones. Need to check on which they are. The Argent can wait until I feel like doing the Tournament dailies again.

edit 14/10/14 Turns out the  Silver Covenant is Alliance only. It’s the Argent that is cross faction so did get that too. Still about 35 tokens away from the  Mount Hyjal one as the dailies drag on and I skip doing them for a week or three.

StonetalonDuring Hallow’s End there are  pumpkin candy quests at most of the working inns and an achievement that goes with it. This one isn’t on the list. I know I did all of Kalimdor ones on Bechka, not for the achievement so much as the easy guild XP which helped push us up to level 8.

Then I was levelling one of the new kids through Stonetalon and saw the  gold exclamation mark inside a ruined building, so of course I had to look and there it was. A ghost left over from before the Cataclysm. A Candy bucket in a ruined inn.  Stonetalon Peak was never much visited before the Cataclysm, accept for once a year when people were chasing candy buckets, the bucket still  appears but I wonder how many people know to visit it

wrapping up

I should have done this before 4.01 hit but I was distracted so for future reference my gear coming out of Wrath

The only gear change between 3.3.5 and 4.01 is the Belt of Petrifried Ivy from badges to activate the  Leather Specialisation.

I had the cloth one before that, mainly for the graphics as I really dislike the ‘clunkiness’ of that belt.

Don’t know why the item level is saying 0. It shows 270 in game. Gearwise its mainly T10 266 version with:

Volde’s Cloak of the Night Sky

Phaseshifters Bracers

Leather of stitched Scourge parts

Boots of Unnatural Growth

filling in the other main item slots.

The staff is of course Nibelung. Which is probably the only piece that will get banked for future RP use. I’m truly fed up of seeing druids in T10  so will be switching it out as soon as I can. From what I’ve read about beta it won’t see me through the five levels to 85, unlike T6 which I wore into Nax, and I’ll cheer as I remove it. Well unless of course the alternatives are uglier.

Ermm how did that happen?

Kaldorei ruins  in Stonetalon

On the boat to Darnassus

Saying hi to Staghelm

Obviously a bug and one I’m sure Blizz will hotfix pretty soon (or maybe ignore as we’ll get flight form in Azeroth soon) but I spent a pleasant half an hour flying around Kalimdor. Even managed to finally visit the Troll village, on the way to the Cenarion Enclave, hey where else would a druid go to get help with a shapeshifting bug ? 🙂

Identity crisis

Lets talk about my hunter, who is currently 78 and been through a few undocumented changes in the last  few months.

Probably the biggest was when I faction changed her to Horde and Orc.

I keep wanting to have a horde character so I can see the game from the ‘other side’ but I really don’t like the animations of the races.  They run funny. Yes I know some people think Nigh Elves run funny but I like their run animation so it doesn’t bother me.

So instead of  starting another alt I spent some dosh and Daxtari became Daxta. She stayed horde long enough to complete Wrathgate and acquire a suitable pet. The red lynx didn’t really go with the Orc facelift.

Then she  just sort of stayed there, not doing much. Most of the quests that differ are lower level than she is though we did do a few in Azshara of all places.

After a few weeks I had to admit the experiment was a failure, I still wasn’t playing her much and when I did I usually wanted to smack the horde  questgivers in the face. Now there are a few Alliance ones that make me feel the same way but it seemed moreso on Horde side. Though it might not have helped that I was dealing with Conqueror Krenna a fair bit.

Added to that Ari was missing her ‘go to gal’ for leather and as the planned replacement was still running around  Southern Kalimdor  trying to level up I figured if all my hunter was going to do was  skin beasts she might as well do it where my main could benefit most from her skills.

To complete the transformation a certain hunter re-rolled rogue and stuck as banker in her thirties was asked to move aside so I could reuse the name.

And lo it came to pass that Briarthorn, Arianthorns kid sister  refound her orginal vocation as a hunter.

According to WoW census Briarthorn the Kaldorei hunter first appeared on MG in mid December 2005 and took till January 2008 to reach level 42.  (She was recorded by WoW Census about a week before they spotted Ari but I’m pretty sure Ari was rolled first).

The third sister, Runethorn, is currently posing as a priestess, having decided not to use the name for a deathknight I’m considering it for my mage. Of course there are some RP consequences if Ari’s sister becomes a mage, but a lot less than if she was a Deathknight, and knowing me I might well have changed my mind again by the time Cata finally hits the servers.

Did it

Finally took down the Lich King on 25 man last night.

Both our 10 man groups did it a  while back, but our 25 man has been struggling with attendance and balanced raids since the early summer. Plus we’ve not been resetting as we were collecting shards for Shadowmourne which was completed  last week yay! So our first 25 man kill was done with one of our Death Knights  wielding it.

I’ve been quiet here because really there’s not much going on. Pretty much been logging on for raids and then logging off. I had a friend die a few days after my last entry and not had much ‘appetite’ for WoW news since. It puts things in perspective between real life and a video game. Well for a while and then the Video game begins to draw one back in because you can’t grieve forever.

Fridays have been given over to doing Glory of the Ulduar Raider (10 man) which I achieved last week and now have 310% flight form. Okay I have the Reins of the Rusted Proto-Drake but  I’ve only wanted it since Blizz made any 310 mount turbo charge  swift flight form.  Aria is never going to be a major mount  collector, I’m too wedded to flight form
