Patchwerk want to play

We downed Patchwerk on Heroic last night. I may have said this before but I find the 25 man Naxx a slight anticlimax after the 10 man. You’ve seen the boss and learnt the fight on normal mode then you go kill him with more back up on heroic.

patchStill a guild first is a guild first, we’ve already cleared the Spider and Plague Wings, I seem to have forgotten to mention those though, and of course completed Naxx in Normal 10 man mode.

We also downed Grobbulus the second boss, erm I kind of forgot to take a screen shot of that as I was busy admiring my new shoulders the Mantle of the Fatigued Sage. Thats the last bit of my T6 gone now. I do look a tad clownlike at the moment though. I also got some new bracers Swarm Bindings off  Anub’Rekhan earlier in the evening. So both needed enchanting.

The shoulder enchant was a bit expensive as I had to mill 6 stacks of AH herbs to get the two icy pigments I needed for Snowfall ink to make the Master’s Inscription of the Storm . At which point I remembered I was still hated by the Sons of Hodir, the faction that provides shoulder enchants for non scribes.

I sort of remember this little fact every so often then do nothing about it,  but I took myself off to WoWwiki to find out what I needed to do, and basically it was  click on the strange nugget I’ve been carrying in my bag without noticing for the last 10 days and complete the questline. So now I’m friendly with them. Not likely to be one I grind as their main rewards are the shoulder enchants but at least they don’t hate me any more.

Talking rep grinds, I made revered with the  Oracles and am carrying a  Mysterious Egg around in the hope it’ll hatch something companionable and have identified my next pet source.  I need to complete the  Higher Learning Achievement which should net me a  Kirin Tor Familiar.  I may even have 50 before the patch introduces the new 100 pet achievement.

As to the weekends focus

Get a UI page up on this blog with my addons listed to make the next  rebuild that much easier I did it. It’s a bit rough and ready still and has made me wonder what else is out there in add-on land that I may find myself unable to live without

No more Pink Lollipop!

We were in Black Temple on Wednesday and Highlord Naj’entus kindly deigned to drop The Maelstom’s Fury. It’s stats are similar the the Pink Lollipop but +crit rather than +hit. I need to enchant it and can only use it for raids where we have an elemental shaman (or an S:Priest after 3.0.2), but at least I won’t be running around Northrend with the pink lollipop for six more levels.

This does rather leave me wondering what I’m going to do with 149 badges of justice, I was saving them for the Scryers Blade of Focus, which for stats & raw damage is still better than either the lollipop or the Fury but +crit means more mana regen. I may visit the badge vendor after 3.0.2 goes live and see whether spellpower makes some of the healing gear more attractive.

Personal choice is still to have a staff. Moonkins look silly with one hand maces & daggers, but Blizz seem to have decided that main hand, off hand is the way to go for dps casters

People seem to be convinced that the 3.0.2 patch is coming next week

Part of me hopes they’re wrong. Dax is still only level 69 (one bubble of XP earned) she’s been sidelined the last few weeks so I could play on the beta. When I do jump on her its to grind herbs in preperation for Inscription. And I’ve just found out that the requirements have increased.

Banana Shoulders has just updated her inscription levelling guide with the new amounts.

To power level Ari to 350 inscription I’m going to need around 1.3k herbs, As of the last count I have 750 (and not all in neat stacks of 5 for milling). So this weekend its grinding more herbs. Poor Dax is currently running circuits in STV, thats not going to help her reach 70. Hopefully we’ll get her sorted before WotLK ships but I’m not overly worried if I don’t, she can go to Northrend at 69.

Briarthorn & Kenisha are both twiddling their thumbs. I’m unlikely to seriously play them for a while. Certainly not before WotLK, and probably not until Ari, Dax & my DK reach 80.

You wave at Lorthemar

We were meant to be raiding tonight, at 7pm 18 people on line, and not a warrior, feral druid or prot pally amongst them. *sigh*

Got up to about 23 but still no tank (well none with gear good enough for beyond Kara) A raid was formed with about 15 people all wanting to go somewhere. Only they were picky about where. Seems if it’s not a real raid then they’d rather do dailies.

In the end there were six of us who wanted to do something so off we went to raid Silvermoon. We cleared the gate way with ease, only to discover the horde were having some event going on and world PvP ensued. Six of us against a somewhat disorganised rolling number of horde, they meant business they put their PvP gear on and then corpse camped.

We practiced patience, the wonder of PvE servers wisp around long enough and PvP goes off (I know, I know care bears) then the three rogues & me stealthed to Sunfury Spire. One of the hunters got a bubble & just ran for it, not sure how the Pallie and the other hunter made it, but they did.

Turns out that if you unstealth & rezz someone in the little antechamber then you pull the guards lining the roadway. Also turns out that the guards are easy to kill, well we managed it without anymore fatalities. Though they respawn fairly fast too which wasn’t so hot.

Horde appeared and seemed somewhat disturbed we wanted to kill Lothemar. They hit harder than the guards so we went down. Still six of us raided Silvermoon and got to the faction leader while the server was busy, much more fun than doing dailies any day.

It hasn’t escaped my notice that a new beta build was patched in this week. There’s loads of commentary on the web already so I’m not going to repeat it, (some stuff after the break ) as it’s beta a lot of it won’t make it to live in it’s current form (more…)

Scrivener

There’s a new profession coming in Wotlk Inscriptions. The most likely name for those taking the profession will probably be Scribe rather than Scrivener (I just wanted to use my English teacher’s surname as I haven’t had much chance over the last 30 years)

General Update

As mysteriously as my guild bank emptied it was refilled. I did post on the in-game forums and a GM went and looked and could see all, though didn’t tweak or fix anything. Next time I logged in I too could see all. Very strange

Ermm yes rogue. I said I suffered from altistis currently level 16 I’ll tell you more about her if she manages to reach 30. Last couple I’ve tried got deleted around 20, frustration at the class quest. This time I’ll just skip it until its green I think.

More on Inscriptions after this break…
